Time is a fickle child. Stretching the mundane and coiling the precious.
It comes pre-assembled with a large rear-view mirror and a grimy windshield.
Scanning the past. It’s easier. The shiny reflection so crisp.
What-ifs. Could-have-beens. They steal the soul.
Minutes, days, years. Gone.
You miss the smells, the sounds. The feel of the now.
I used to be a prisoner within my memories. Always looking back.
Time forever lost.
These days I try to focus. But staying present is slippery.
It’s an active sport requiring sweat and aggression.
Throw in some blood, a little determination and callouses form, grip strength improves.
Then it won’t be long before you’re tasting the sunshine. Hearing smiles.
Finding ways to embrace life.
I seek out mine. And recount some of them here. So here’s how This Week Rocked.
